Cupping at Hasbean
By Chris Weaver • Oct 28th, 2008 • Category: Latest Cupping NotesWell on Saturday after a fantastic offer from Steve Leighton over at Hasbean Coffee Roastery in Stafford. I headed over for a private cupping with the legend himself (I can imagine him blushing already). The main focus of the visit was to cup Steve’s brand new Indian Balmadi Natural process coffee. A bio-dynamic coffee good enough to encourage steve to had out and get the roastery Bio-Dynamic certified, which gives him the rather proud statement of being able to call himself the first UK roastery to become bio-dynamic certified. Thus giving himself the right to sell the coffee using the bio-dynamic marketing point. On top of this it also makes great statements about their working environment, the lack of cross contamination between coffees and the clean state the roasters are kept in.
